Life and Happiness

Different people have different needs to be fulfilled. Some people need to be the boss, some people need lots of money, some people need lots of love, some people only worry about having their physical needs met ... again and again and again. For me I feel happy when I know I help someone improve their lives. I tutored today, I know that if those three men do good on the ASVAB test they will get a good job with the military. That will help them improve their lives. I taught English in Korea for a long time, I knew if my students improved their English ability they would get better jobs and improve their lives. On the weekends I teach future teachers that will go to other countries to teach English. I don't know if I am good doing that, but I often get emails and phone calls from my students that tell me how much they learned and how much I instilled confidence in them which has helped them become more effective teachers. Last week I got an email from an old student and she said I was a great teacher. She said that she feels good about teaching because she is making a big effect on her students' lives. She told me that I am helping the world exponentially because my teaching has expanded to every one of my students. I touch their students through them. It made me feel good and happy about my life. I guess we all have to find what makes us happy!!
