Running longer distances

Streets of San Jose
I ran another race today. I ran down the streets of San Jose today. I am comfortable running 5K and most of my races were that last year. This year I am going to do a variety of races. I did a color race first, my second race this year was 8K down the streets of San Jose. It was fun because I ran the streets I drive on often.
I drive through this tunnel often!
After the run I hung around the stores and shopping area that was at the end of race. I usually just go home, but today it was fun to talk about the run with everyone. Also got some free food and enjoyed some of the games that were offered by different organizations.

Today was 5 miles and I did it in an hour. Next week I will run 7 miles and I hope to finish it in an hour and a half. Today's run is in remembrance to Pat Tillman. He went to high school in this area and when he was killed in action the local community started the Pat Tillman Foundation to keep his memory alive. This run was the second annual 408K. There is also a Run for Pat in Arizona where he played professional football. As I ran I was thinking about this man that gave up the BIG money he was making so he could serve his country. That is really very patriotic and I hope more people follow his lead.
I finished with a final kick!
Last week was 5K, this week was 8K, and next week will be 12K. 3 miles, 5 miles, then 7 miles. I will plan on running a half marathon soon, 13 miles. This year let's see how far I can go!
