When I was in the Army I lived in El Paso, Texas for a few years. When I lived there I used to go to the field in the desert with the Army. Dehydration is something they worry about a lot when they are in the desert so they would order people to drink water every hour. I always wondered how you can tell if someone was dehydrated. The people in the Army that work in the desert know many tricks on what to do or not to do. Working with them I learned that you can tell if a person is hydrated by the color of their urine. If a person's urine is clear that means the person has enough fluid. If the urine is a dark yellow that means the person hasn't had enough to drink and needs to drink immediately.

The same goes for when you are sick. It seems like when you are sick your urine is a dark yellow and when it gets clear you are getting better. So, always check your pee color and if it isn't white/clear drink more water!
