Making an Impact in the world of music!

A few years ago I was bored at home and went into a China chatroom. I went in the room and asked if anyone wanted to chat with someone from California. A girl started chatting with me. She was a business major in college and English was important to her. She and I chatted often about many things. As she was taking her English classes in college she asked me to help her with papers. Her English was great and as the years went by it got better and better. She shared with me the youtube (in China is it youku) videos she made singing American songs. She then asked me to help her with a project she was working on, translating American videos about Hard Rock into Chinese. This was not really a topic that interested me. I had done the same sort of thing when I was in Korea. They asked me to listen to a video tape about how to groom a golf course.
My Chinese friend asked me to help her by doing the same thing. She did most of the listening herself and asked me to help in places she didn't understand what they said. One of the videos she had me help her with was about Slash     (http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNDgyNTI5NDA4.html). I didn't know who she was doing this work for, I sort of thought she was just doing it for her own education. She graduated from college and got a job with a garment company. She worked in the sales office in a factory. We kept in touch and still chatted often. She still worked with the videos and had me help her. It was good for me to stay sharp in doing this kind of work. It turns out she was doing the videos for GuitarChina, one of the major guitar companies in China. I have always been impressed by her English ability and she is a very nice girl. About 2 months ago she told me she might get a new job. I was happy for her and figured she got a higher position with her garment company. She had shown me some pictures when she had met some famous singers from different companies, so I thought that had something to do with her position. She finally told me that she got the new job, in the city she went to college rather than the city her parents lived. I was surprised. She told me the company was a music company and she was getting a substantial raise in pay. She would also be sent to different countries to work at trade shows. Today I found out that the reason she got the job was the head of the company had seen the videos she had done and was so impressed that he looked her up and offered her a job. She attributes me with her ability to do those videos. I helped her with the listening and also corrected her grammar when she did writing in English.
Her new job requires her to write advertising in English for the company website and she has me help her with that also. I really know that I am helping her in her career. I'm proud of myself and I'm also very proud of Jessica! She is going to Germany this year to work at a trade fair and will go to LA next year to work in another trade fair. Maybe I will even meet her when she comes to California! One of the videos she had me help her with was about Slash     (http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNDgyNTI5NDA4.html).
