I don't usually smile when I run. |
On June 1, 2013 I ran a 5 mile race in San Jose. It was sponsored by the San Jose Giants which is the "triple A" team for the San Francisco Giants. I had been looking forward to this race for a long time. I was excited about where we were running. We ran through a historic park, a zoo, and into the stadium used by the San Jose Giants.

We are off! |
There were a lot of people running, but it wasn't the largest group I have run with. I like this kind of group, some are hard core runners that run the race to see how fast they can. I run to see if I can complete the distance. Some people come and plan to walk to whole distance and sometimes bring their pets and just want to enjoy the morning. I want to see if I can improve the time I had run before.

Running through the zoo |
On August 4, 2013 I will run a 5K race sponsored by the San Francisco Giants. We will run a loop that starts at the stadium (ATT Park) and then alone the waterfront in San Francisco and then back on to the playing field.

Running through the historic park. |
We have been given instructions to be careful about being on the field. We have been asked to walk carefully on the outfield and not spend a lot of time on the grass.

Seeing the finish like always makes me happy! |
Running both races is kind of cool. It also makes me eligible to win a pair of special running gloves with the San Francisco Giants logo. There are a couple of other combination runs in the area, but this one fits my schedule since I work 3 weekends a month. I am a little disappointed about doing this on a Sunday since I have been keeping my promise to my sister and God to go to church every Sunday I don't work. Originally I wanted to go to church every week even if I did work on Sunday, but I couldn't do that.

Party on the field after the race. |
