In 1996 the Democratic Party was in disarray. The media was saying that the Democratic Party would not survive because the country had more conservative views. The Democratic Party was trying to "save the world" and they were very weak. These days you hear people saying the same about the Republican Party. We have a Democratic president, the Senate has a Democratic majority, but the House has a Republican majority. I don't understand how the Republican Party is dead if almost half the country voted for them in the last election. If you go to Northern California you will think there are no Republicans in America.

If you visit Idaho or most states in the Mid-West you will think there are no Democrats in America. Some people think it is a class or racial difference, but it is mostly an urban versus rural difference. How can a political party be dead when more than 45% of the population of the country backs it? I think what is going on right now is many people like the current president. They don't think he is a good president, they just like him as a person. He isn't able to lead the government, he spends too much time criticizing the government, even though he has been the head of the government for almost 5 years. He is a great organizer for people that don't like the government, but he IS the government! I don't know what will happen in the next election.
I am not proud of the politics in my country these days. There was a rodeo clown that wore an Obama mask and people were cheering the bull to gore him, the media went crazy about how disrespectful it was to the president. Yet, 6 years ago the same clown wore the mask of Bush, and the media thought it was funny. What the Hell!! Is it because the president is black, so therefore if we say anything bad about him it is only because of his race. We are not allowed to say anything negative about him or else we are racist. He has done things to hurt the people in the USA, but people follow him like lemmings running over the cliff.

Politics is a pendulum, it goes from one extreme to another and I like that. I want a slow moving government that moves cautiously so we can make sure it is a change we want.
