This month I have been teaching on the weekends at UC Berkeley. I teach a class to certify people to teach English in other countries. I have been doing this for about 5 years and over 35 classes. This month I have another great class! I have two women from Korea that came to the USA to improve their English then they want to go back to their country and help others with their English. One of them wants to teach preschoolers and the other teaches clarinet and wants to teach English in conjunction with that. They are both exciting and surprise me with their wit and humor. Two other of the students want to also teach in Korea. They are native English speakers that have heard about the great opportunities teaching in Korea and they want to go there also. I really believe if you teach in Korea the best place to teach, the only place I would suggest, is Seoul. There is a reason 25% of the entire country live in one city. I do have an old student teaching in Pusan and she loves it, so I know I'm not always right! One of my students is from Columbia and she will return their and teach while she is finishing her degree. Another of my students is going to Mexico with her husband, who is being transferred there by his company for a couple of years and will teach English while he is working. The other student is an IT professional that has spent some time in Japan and wants to find a way to go back. This is a great class and everyone is putting a lot of effort into becoming the best teacher they can.
