I went to the movies tonight at a theater where the admission is only $5. Of course the seating is the same as it was 40 years ago, and the popcorn comes in small bags, rather than the tubs they have in most theaters now. I think the biggest "attraction" was hearing the projector humming in the back of the theater like I did when I was a kid. I could see the streaks of light like the theaters when I was a kid and kept waiting for the lights to come on in the middle of the movie because the projector or film was broken. I saw a very nice movie, that has only been out for about a month, and I enjoyed the experience. I am not a fan of 3D, and I don't care if the chair can rock or recline. I like going to movies that are affordable and have an "ambiance". I look forward to going back to that theater again! (Oh, that was also the theater that my wife and I were at on October 31, 1988 when she went into labor with our first child!)
I ran another 5K race today. I ran the same course I did on January 1, 2012. This was my fastest time so far, I am not sure how accurate it was, but I was happy with the time. Tomorrow I will run a race with an accurate timer so I hope I do as well also. I think I have found my race for next week, I will run on the trails through a redwood forest!
