Change is good

Before I cleaned the shed.
After I cleaned the shed.

Today I cleaned the shed, really only half the shed, the other half will wait for later. I knew I was wrong to leave my books out there, but I didn't have room in the house for them. The Shakespeare book from college is gone now, so is the A Day in California and Learn Korean Through English. I found some things that I had forgotten I had, like the hundreds on postcards from around the world (places I have been to). I finally threw away my high school graduation gift from my parents, a suitcase (and had a nostalgia moment  thinking about why they had given me that), I threw out another large suitcase I haven't used in over a decade. I kept the stuff my dad picked up in Korea from 1965 and Viet Nam in 1970. I found out that I have three gas cans, wondering if that is how often I had to buy a gas can when I ran out of gas. I kept the tent I haven't used in over a decade hoping I would use it sometime. I realized that I have ignored most of that stuff for so many years it became unusable and decrepit and I might as well have thrown it out years ago. I realize my weight loss is the same way, I lost weight because I changed how I use my body. I have been ignoring my body, I sit around and do nothing ... I need to change that and do something. My body became unusable and decrepit and I might as well have thrown it out years ago (maybe I just gave up). Now that I have lost that weight I need to find a way to exercise, a sport I enjoy doing, so I don't ignore my body. I am also doing that with my finances since I have been ignoring them for a decade. My financial situation has become unusable and decrepit and it has been unmanageable. I have taken charge of it and decided to change it. I am trying to get it manageable and then I have to find a way to keep it changing. I don't like change, but I know things will change whether I make the change or I ignore and it all changes for the bad.
