Second day of Unemployment

Two days ago was my last day of work for a national contract with the California Army National Guard. On that day I drove to Sacramento to give the keys to the supply room that is responsible for the car. While I was there I talked to my military boss about the prospects of coming back to the same position. She told me the contracting office needed another week to prepare the contract and then they need to put the contract out for bids for 15 days and then the contract will probably be given to the same company I have been working for and they say they will rehire me so I should be re-employed in 4 weeks.
I had two other questions when I talked to my military boss. My first question was what would happen next year, would my job be in jeopardy again. She said the contract should be a 5 year contract, but each year they would have to request money and it might be a problem, but probably not. If that sounds confusing to you it does to me also. In other words every year my job will be "iffy". My second question was if the pay would be the same. I make less than anyone else I know in this area. My pay is good compared to people in Alabama and Arizona, but not compared to this area.
She said she didn't know and that would be determined by the contracting office. I was hoping that my pay would be adjusted according to where I lived, but talking to my civilian boss he said he had never heard of that kind of contract before. After he said that I realized I may have a reduction in pay rather than an increase. I was hoping this change to a state contract rather than a national contract would make my pay more relevant to where I live, but I'm not sure it will help.

My first day of unemployment I first filed for unemployment and got a call from them and began the process. I then had a tutoring gig to try to get some money coming in. I have been advertising to do tutoring over the past week and have 2 students already. In the evening I continued looking on employment websites for a new job. I would rather get paid a wage that is good for this area rather than a wage that is good for Alabama. I at least need employment for the month I am waiting for my re-employment. On www.monster.com I found a job that looked like it was made with me in mind.
Pearson publishing company is looking for people in California to travel to different schools around California to teach teachers how to use their products. This job is only to be done from July - September. The job is 100% travel, like my present job. If they have me visit schools in Northern California then I will visit many schools I have been to over the past 6 years. They are looking for someone that has been teaching in K-12 classrooms for over 5 years, but I only had 2 years experience. I think I meet every other criteria so hopefully they can overlook that.
They are supposed to be calling me for an interview tomorrow, if they can waive the 5 year teaching in K - 12 requirement. I think my passion will show over the phone when they talk to me. It is a little ironic that on Saturday I will teach my class how to succeed in phone interviews. Let's see if I can take my own advice. Tonight I will study about the company and I will have 3 questions to ask when they call. I will also get up before they call and get dressed. When they talk to me on the phone I will stand up since my voice will be stronger and sound better than way! Pray for me :).
